Trump using religion to his advantage

Donald trump candidacy divides republicans

There are reports that Republican presidential hopeful, Donald Trump will attend Christmas eve mass on Thursday in Palm Beach, Florida with his family. His campaign has also confirmed.

Donald Trump who married his third and current wife, Melania, in 2005 at Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea will attend the church service with his entire family.

According to his itinerary, Donald Trump will appear via satellite from Palm Beach on Fox News in the 11 p.m. hour, the network announced this week. Trump often spends the holidays at his residence at Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach.

Trump was not known much for his religion before now

Before Trump’s presidential bid, he wasn’t closely associated with religion.Since entering the Republican primary, where evangelical voters hold out sized sway, Trump has promoted his Christianity, holding high-profile meetings with evangelical pastors and bringing a family bible and first communion photo to interviews and campaign rallies. He identifies as a Presbyterian.

His attacks to his rivals have also been religion-related. He attacked Ben Carson suggesting that voters will react negatively to Carson’s Seventh Day Adventism, and saying earlier this month in Iowa, “I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba.”

According to a program on Bethesda-by-the-Sea’s website, the 10:30 p.m. service will include, “Festal Eucharist and homily with music for choir, congregation, and brass ensemble.”
