Bernie Sanders headed to New York for ‘Saturday Night Live’ cameo

“Sanders kept bringing the argument back to her ties to Wall Street. Through the end of December, the financial industry had given at least $21.4 million to support Clinton’s 2016 presidential run — more than 10 percent of the $157.8 million amassed to back her bid, according to an analysis of Federal Election Commission filings by The Washington Post.”

Meanwhile democratic presidential aspirant Bernie Sanders is planning a trip on Saturday to New York, where he is likely to make an appearance on “Saturday Night Live,” according to a source with direct knowledge of plans.

The show to be hosted by comedian Larry David

The show which would be hosted this week by comedian Larry David, who has played the Vermont senator with uncanny precision in multiple skits this season. As of Friday morning, it was not really clear what Sanders’s role on the long-running late-night comedy show would be.

A close confidant to Sanders revealed the condition of anonymity because neither “Saturday Night Live” nor the campaign was prepared to announce Sanders’s appearance.

Hillary Clinton, Sanders’s Democratic rival, was featured on the show in October, in a sketch in which she played a bartender who commiserated with Clinton as played by the show’s cast member Kate McKinnon.

The two democratic presidential aspirant Sanders and Clinton are spending the majority of their days in New Hampshire in advance of Tuesday’s Democratic primary, in which polls show Sanders with a reasonable lead. Sanders is expected to return to the state by Sunday to resume campaigning in preparation for The New Hampshire. Sanders campaign operation, however, has warned that they have been organizing in other states, including South Carolina and Nevada, and should not be underestimated.
