Former secretary of state during Barack Obama’s government, Hillary Clinton has said that she’ll love to have an Obama sitting on ‘the Bench’ at the supreme court. During her campaign rallies, a question was asked by a member of the audience: Would she nominate President Barack Obama to the Supreme Court? It was evident that Hillary was not expecting such question, but she responded: ‘Wow, what a great idea!’ ‘Nobody has ever suggested that to me Wow,’ Clinton said. ‘I love that. Wow. He may have a few other things to do, but I’ll tell you, it’s a great idea.’ Hillary’s comments on Tuesday come the same week President Obama praised his former secretary of state in an interview with Politico. President Obama is yet to endorse any candidate though.
What about a Justice Barack Obama?
According to the ABC news, Clinton cherish the idea of having ‘Justice Obama,’ she said “I would certainly take that under advisement,” she told the crowd of 450 people about a potential Justice Obama. “I mean he’s brilliant, and he can set forth an argument, and he was a law professor, so he’s got all the credentials.” “Now we do have to get a Democratic Senate to get him confirmed so you’re going to have to help me on that, OK?” she added.
Obama wants to get out and get ‘fresh air’
Ii appears the president wants to take a break after the expiration of his tenure. In 2014, in an interview with the New Yorker, President Obama seemed unsure when asked whether he would consider a position on the Supreme Court. “I love the law, intellectually,” Obama said, “I love nutting out these problems, wrestling with these arguments. I love teaching. I miss the classroom and engaging with students. But I think being a Justice is a little bit too monastic for me. Particularly after having spent six years and what will be eight years in this bubble, I think I need to get outside a little bit more.”
