After Donald Trump posted a video on Twitter which was considered a direct attack at CNN, accusing the station of promoting fake news, a poll was conducted, in order to see which of the two parts is actually more trustworthy.
According to The Washington Post, the poll, which was released this Tuesday, reveals that fifty percent of the questioned adults trust CNN, while just 43 percent trust president Donald Trump more.
Republicans still believe in him!
On the other side, 89 percent Republicans consider Trump more trustworthy, while just 9 percent of them share this thought about CNN. Finally, thins are completely different among Democrats, with 91 percent of them trusting the news network.
“The fight … between the White House and major media outlets has made the question of truthfulness just as partisan-tinged as health care or other policies,” said John Cohen from Survey Monkey, the company who conducted the action.
Over the past weeks, the relationship between the media outlets and the White House reached a historical low, everything culminating with president Trump’s tweet from Sunday, consisting in the above-mentioned video, showing himself wrestling CNN’s logo. The words “#FraudNewsCNN #FNN” were also added in the tweet.
He didn’t stop at one tweet!
On Monday, Donald Trump also tweeted that all the”fake news” media will be forced to move their focus on his administration’s accomplishments, as well as job numbers, economy and the success with fighting the Islamic State.
CNN isn’t the only news outlet which is trusted more than the president, since the same happened when respondents were asked to choose between him or Washington Post/New York Times or ABC/CBS/NBC.
