Donald Trump goes after Ted Cruz in Iowa

Donald Trump on 9/11 attacks

Donald Trump in Iowa recently went after Ted Cruz. Iowa, with a farm economy, is having issues since the price of corn is down due to oversupply.

A pro-ethanol group is calling for the head of Cruz since he has not identified with biofuel or met with the group’s leadership.

The Guardian reports that Donald Trump, at a town hall meeting at Iowa attacked the Senator. He accused him of opposing ethanol subsidies but being big on oil since he’s a Texan.

“If Ted Cruz is against ethanol, how does he win in Iowa? Because that’s very anti-Iowa.” Donald had started. “He’s a nice guy, I mean, everything I say he agrees with me, no matter what I say. But with the ethanol, really, he’s got to come a long way.”

How will Ted win Iowa since he’s against ethanol?

As usual of Trump, he went a step further. This wasn’t surprising as he had always held back, but since the Senator took a swipe at him, condemning his call for a ban at a closed-door fund-raiser, he reciprocated.

Donald Trump had attacked others, calling Rubio a lightweight who drinks too much water, Carson a pathological liar and Bush as low energy.

Trump went for Cruz’s family background.
“I do like Ted Cruz, but not a lot of evangelicals come out of Cuba,” he said of the country where Cruz’s father, an evangelical preacher, was born.

Trump had tweeted that Cruz shouldn’t make statements close door but bring them out in the open.

Iowa is very important in the race to the White House.

Trump also stressed the importance of winning Iowa, with Ted being his closest rival.
“If we win Iowa, I think we’re going to win everything after that.”
