During his latest rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Donald Trump issued a serious attack to whom will most likely be the Democratic nominee for the White House, Hillary Clinton, claiming that she “got schlonged” by President Obama in the 2008 presidential contest, says NBC News.
After these declarations were made, which weren’t a surprise, considering that they are coming form Donald Trump, everybody was looking forward to see a response from Hillary Clinton. Still, the Democratic candidate opted for a low-key approach to the situation.
Hillary Clinton doesn’t intend to respond
Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri sent a tweet saying that “We are not responding to Trump but everyone who understands the humiliation this degrading language inflicts on all women should.”
This was the first response given by Hillary Clinton‘s campaign ever since Trump made the vulgar statement on Monday night. Even more, senior spokesperson Karen also sent a tweet related to the situation: “Resorting to disgusting sexist slurs is not leadership Mr. Trump.”
After making the statement related to the 2008 campaign, Donald Trump didn’t stop, also saying that Hillary Clinton‘s delay in returning to the stage during this Saturday’s Democratic debate, after she asked for a bathroom pause, was “disgusting.”
“I’m watching the debate, and she disappeared,” he said. “I know where she went. It’s disgusting. I don’t want to talk about it. No, it’s too disgusting. Don’t say it, it’s disgusting. We want to be very straight up, OK?”
No mention of Trump yet
This Tuesday, during an event that took place in Keota, Iowa, Hillary Clinton didn’t mentioned the remark Mr. Trump made, but did talked about his proposal to ban Muslims from entering the United States.
If she will comment in any way on Donald Trump’s declaration it remains to be seen though, as the campaign is not over.
