Over the past weeks, Hillary Clinton’s campaign kept a low profile and didn’t make an declarations on whether there was or not any “outside interference” in the election results. However, the Democrats declared that they will participate in the election recount in Wisconsin, started by Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein, says The Washington Post.
Clinton is ready to investigate!
According to Clinton campaign lawyer Marc Elias, there were “hundreds of messages, emails, and calls urging us to do something, anything, to investigate claims that the election results were hacked and altered in a way to disadvantage Secretary Clinton,” in states like Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, where the “combined margin of victory for Donald Trump was merely 107,000 votes.”
Mr. Elias revealed that there isn’t any clear evidence regarding hacking or outside attempts to alter the technology used for the voting system, but considering the margin of victory, the possibility of outside interference in the voting process shouldn’t be ignored, especially in these three key states.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign will have representatives at the Wisconsin recount, watching closely the whole process and also have lawyers to represent them in court, if needed. If it will be possible, the same thing will be done in Pennsylvania and Michigan.
The Democrats believe that something manipulated the results
“The campaign is grateful to all those who have expended time and effort to investigate various claims of abnormalities and irregularities,” Mr. Elias said, adding that they strongly believe that the elections results were manipulated and that it’s their obligation to make sure that the recount will be completed accurately.
Of course, Donald Trump had something to say about this situation, claiming that it is “just a way for Jill Stein, who received less than one perfect of the vote overall and wasn’t even on the ballot in many states, to fill her coffers with money.”
