Huckabee: ‘God Showed Up’ in Form of Kim Davis

God has made his presence in the form of Kim Davis according to Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee. During a rally he held at in support of Davis at Rowan County Kentucky Huckabee said “God showed up.”

Kim Davis was jailed after she failed to issue marriage licenses for same-sex couples. The GOP presidential hopeful had also planned the rally for days. Davis was however released shortly before 3 p.m. Tuesday. District Judge David Bunning sent Davis to jail last Thursday for failing to give marriage licenses to eligible couples.

Even with the Supreme Court ruling on marriage equality Davis and her deputies refused to give the licenses citing her faith based opposition.

When Davis appeared during the rally she didn’t discuss the any particulars about her case. Bunning made a ruling ordering her not to interfere with the issuance of marriage certificates. Davis simply thanked God and her supporters. “Thank you all so much,” she said in an emotional tone as she stood next to Huckabee. She also added that she had embraced evangelical Christianity four years ago.

Davis also made a comment about judicial tyranny in Supreme Court saying that it is the highest ranking judicial branch but doesn’t have power over the executive branch as well as the legislative branch of government.
