During an event which was supposed to finally unite the GOP, Melania, Republican nominee Donald Trump’s wife, managed to create a lot of controversy, thanks to her discourse, which had way too much similarities to Michelle Obama’s 2008 convention speech.

Poor choice, Mrs. Trump…

This was Melania Trump‘s first speech during her husband’s campaign and she was aided by a speechwriting team. Not the best team, as a side note.

“In writing her beautiful speech, Melania’s team of writers took notes on her life’s inspirations, and in some instances included fragments that reflected her own thinking,” Donald Trump’s communications adviser Jason Miller said. “Melania’s immigrant experience and love for America shone through in her speech, which made it such a success,” he added.

Of course, Donald Trump was also delighted with his wife’s performance, describing the moment as “absolutely incredible”. However, the similarities between her and Mrs. Obama’s moment from 2008 were more than obvious.

According to BBC, one of the parts which revealed the fact that Melania Trump‘s discourse writers got a lot of inspiration from Michelle Obama’s was when the businessman’s wife mentioned her parents.

Yes, she said the same thing as the First Lady!

“My parents impressed on me the values that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say and keep your promise; that you treat people with respect,” Melania Trump said.

Back in 2008, the First Lady said literally the same thing: And Barack and I were raised with so many of the same values: that you work hard for what you want in life; that your word is your bond and you do what you say you’re going to do; that you treat people with dignity and respect, even if you don’t know them, and even if you don’t agree with them.”

Of course, the similarities were many more and the whole world reacted. It will be very curious to see if this will affect Donald Trump’s campaign in some way or another.
