Social media is already a very important part of our lives, being the place where some of the most important topics and issues are discussed daily. Considering this, the fact that President Obama has finally joined the club doesn’t comes as a surprise.
It will be more than just a place for discussing issues
According to Daily News, Barack Obama, the 44th President of the United states, created a Facebook page on Monday, looking forward to discussing hot topics the United States are dealing with, like climate change, for example.
“Hello, Facebook! I finally got my very own page. I hope you’ll think of this as a place where we can have real conversations about the most important issues facing our country – a place where you can hear directly from me, and share your own thoughts and stories,” President Obama wrote.
Of course, we won’t see just “serious” posts on this page, as the President also said that all those who will “Like” and follow it should also expect to see posts that are “just for fun” – most likely pictures with dogs and his family.
There’s already activity on the page
Even though it was launched today, the page already has some pictures uploaded, like one from when President Obama was just a child, one from his wedding with Michelle and various snapshots of him into government positions.
For those of you that aren’t that much into social media, you should know that this isn’t the first time when President Obama has an official account on a social network. Back in June he also joined Twitter as @POTUS, standing for President of the United States. His presence on Twitter came as a boom, becoming the fastest ever who reached 1 million followers, a number that nobody managed to reach so quick.
