As the moment when the nominations for the elections in November will be announced is getting closer, a lot of rumors about the potential running mates of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are surfacing.
If the former Secretary of State was linked to several names, the last being businessman Mark Cuban, owner of NBA team Dallas Mavericks, Donald Trump seems to have picked his favorite!
It’s a Senator from Tennessee!
According to CBS News, Senator Bob Corker, chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee could be the one, after he was seen meeting with Donald Trump this Monday, for an hour and a half, at Trump Tower.
“I have no reason whatsoever to believe I am being considered for a position I could say that until I’m blue in my face again, this was a meeting between two people who didn’t know each other,” Mr. Corker told reporters as he was leaving the building.
Bob Corker also claimed that this was the first time he and Donald Trump met, despite talking previously on the phone, about foreign affairs. He admitted that the meeting was enjoyable, as he and Trump covered domestic issues and foreign policy. A couple of interesting topic to talk with somebody you don’t know very well, we’d say…
Is this the running mate Trump really wants?
“I will say that the fact that he’s challenging some of the status quo,” the Senator said. “It is causing these countries to think a little bit differently about U.S. And I can say that in a positive way.”
Back in April, Bob Corker has praised Trump’s foreign policy speech, while previously, he criticized his plan to ban Muslims from entering the country. Let this sink it a bit. Is a man who thinks that Donald Trump has an actual idea about foreign policy a good option for vice president?
