Bernie Sanders vs. Hillary Clinton was one of the best parts of this campaign, as the Vermont Senator impressed us several times and delivered some memorable moments. However, now that the nominee has been chosen, it’s time for him to remember that he’s a democrat at core and do his best to help his party win the general elections.
According to The Huffington Post, The Bern is expected to meet with Hillary Clinton soon and discuss his role in the general election effort. This comes as a result of the meeting he had with Barack Obama at the White House yesterday, when the President also officially endorsed the former Secretary of State.
Watch out, Donald!
“I look forward to meeting with her in the near future to see how we can work together to defeat Donald Trump and to create a government which represents all of us and not just the 1 percent,” he said.
The Senator also added that he called Hillary Clinton on Tuesday night, in order to congratulate her on winning the election.
Bernie Sanders also wanted to express his attitude towards Donald Trump‘s policy, considering the scenario in which he’s elected president a “disaster”.
“Needless to say, I am going to do everything in my power, and I will work as hard as I can, to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president of the United States,” Sanders added.
Bernie seems to have forgotten about his plans
Finally, he didn’t mention anything about his previous plans of trying to obtain the support of superdelegates and transform the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia in July into a very contested one.
There’s no need mentioning that this move will bring a lot of advantages for the Democrats, as it could finally reunite the party and help Hillary Clinton gain even more support for her upcoming clash with the Republican nominee, Donald Trump.
