After Donald Trump took his spot in the Oval Office, former President Barack Obama is finally enjoying a well-deserved holiday. And what better way to do this than kite surfing, in the Virgin Islands?
It was about time for Obama to have some fun
According to NBC News, it was the first time when Obama tried this sport and, apparently, was delighted by the outcome. Also, his partner was none other than British businessman Richard Branson, who wanted to present the whole experience on his blog.
“One of the first stories Barack told me when he and Michelle arrived on Moskito Island was how, just before he became President, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii,” the billionaire said.
As for Barack Obama, he isn’t new to water sports! Growing up in Hawaii, he had all the time to learn to surf, so when Branson proposed him and the former First Lady Michelle Obama to check out the Virgin Islands, in the first post-White House vacation getaway, they were definitely delighted.
Richard Branson declared that he was also new to kite surfing, so he felt pretty good after managing to ride the board for about 50 meters above the water. However, Barack Obama was way better than him!
“I was feeling very pleased with myself, only to look over and see Barack go 100 meters on his kiteboard!” he wrote. “I had to doff my cap to him and celebrate his victory.”
