Present this Tuesday in New York, at a women’s empowerment event, former Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton talked about the current reduced number of women in politics, while joking about her own resilience after the loss in November, to Donald Trump.

Grateful for all the support

According to CNN Politics, Clinton also credited her family, friends and a lot of women she had mentored for giving her the much needed strength to bounce back after losing the general elections, a moment that took a lot of people by surprise.

“Now, the truth is, life hands all of us setbacks,” Clinton said, making the audience laugh. “Now, we know that. And if you have lived long enough, you have experienced them, haven’t you?”

The former Secretary of State and First Lady talked about how the past months have been for her, admitting that she was impressed by the love and support she received.

Clinton’s public appearances will keep growing

Ever since November, Hillary Clinton has kept a low profile, reducing her speaking appearances to a minimum. Also, she has yet given a post-election interview. However, lately she started filling her calendar with events!

This Wednesday, she will speak in Washington, at an International Women’s Day event, where she will once again promote the idea that there should be more women in politics.

“Let us hope there is a wave of young women running for office in America,” Clinton said. “And let’s be sure we support them, in every way we can. Let’s help them shatter stereotypes and lift each other up.”
