When the nation’s homeland security chief says he has no idea on how to prevent homegrown terrorist attacks, you know you’re in big trouble. Invited on CBS’s “Face the Nation”, John Kelly declared himself helpless in front of such a threat, according to The Huffington Post.

Kelly said to host John Dickerson that there are so many aspects to this terrorist thing, he doesn’t know hot to react to stop that. The man in charge of the homeland security also added that in addition you got other terrorist threats that come across the border, making it a serious problem.

Should U.S. citizens be worried after this declaration?

John Kelly’s openness was quite surprising and frightening at the same time, as President Donald Trump is taking shot after shot for banning people from Muslim-majority countries from the United States, so the administration’s recognition of impotence in dealing with the terrorism threat should be scary for every American.

Talking with Dickerson about the homegrown terrorist problem, the Homeland Security Secretary expressed his opinion regarding a way to comprehend and deal with this threat, consisting in communicating with the communities these individuals belong to.

Trump is looking forward to keeping his promise

With Trump alienating many potential allies via his “Muslim ban”, how is this an actual solution? As you may remember, in 2015, during a press release from his campaign, the mogul said that he is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until the country’s representatives can find a solution.

Maybe Trump’s first version of the ban was canceled by a judge, but he still “managed” to block and delay for quite some time green card holders who were trying to re-enter the United States. And the 70-years old politician isn’t done yet, as he issued a revised version, which is also currently on hold in the courts…

Easy answer: Kill so many of the regular terrorists that it makes it a VERY unattractive proposition to become a homegrown one.
